| I took this buck on November 8th 2002, of
archery season. The funny part of this day was the sun set was at 4:47, and
VERY windy. My neighbor and I was standing in my back yard practicing at
3:30 talking about wanting to go hunting but thought the wind was to strong
and didn't think we'd see any thing. Well needless to say I went out anyway,
although late I sneaked into the stand, now u have to see my hunting land to
know, and I hope you all can some day, just bring your bow and come on down.
I can drive right up close to the woods because of the Christmas tree plot
across the street, and it's a small section of woods that the deer cross. I
got into the stand about 4:00 and very shortly afterwards I seen 5 does and
what I thought was another doe walk right in front of my other stand. Well
you all know what I was thinking. I thought I'd try a soft grunt and WOW,
here came what I thought was the 6th doe, right to me. Right at sun set,
couldn't see the rack until he was right in front of me for the hill behind
him. Thank goodness I was hunting the edge of the woods for he was 30 yards
out and walking fast. I believe he thought there was another buck after his
does, is why he came so fast to check the grunt out. I drew on him and made a soft whistle, man that's hard with no teeth, lol. He stopped and I shot. He tried to duck the arrow and I spun him, dropped him right there. Well, I ruined his day and made mine! Hope u all have the same luck as I have in deer hunting . |

Two days after I took this buck I seen
another in the same timber that would be his twin. I hope to find his
sheds. I took him in a timber not even 4 acres. in a creek bottom with
several small timbers along it. Alot of hunters over look these small
spots do to not seeing deer every time, but when u do may I say WOW, I
hope this helps any new hunters checking out my pic. don't give up on a
small section of timber. IT WILL PAY OFF. When the hunting pressure gets
high the big boys will hide out in these small sections. I took him on
Nov.5 of the 2004 season right after a week of rain. I didn't even look
over my shoulder when I first heard him. I looked the second time . and
glad I did. I had hit my grunt tube just a few minutes before and I
believe he was going in to my grunt. I knew where he was heading to and
waited for the shoot. he stepped behind a tree and I stood up and turned
,came to full draw . Well the rest is in the pic.lol. I double lunged him
and he went just across the field and expired just inside the timber on
the other side of the corn field.
